Loading a Roll Sheet (CG-100/130AR)
When using a roll sheet, the roll stays must be attached.
For more information on how to attach the roll stays, refer to the assembly instructions provided or see the video (Assembling the Legs and Sheet Basket).
- Mount the roll bars on the roll stay assembly.
- Mount the roll bars with the ends with lugs at the right-hand side, when viewed from the rear of the machine. Mount the roll bars in the numbered slots as follows to suit the outer diameter of the roll sheet:
- For roll sheet with a diameter of 75 mm or more, mount in slots 1 and 3.
- For roll sheet with a diameter of less than 75 mm, mount in slots 2 and 3.
- Check that the roll bars have been installed level.
- When moving roll bars to different slots, keep them level when lifting them.
There is a risk of damaging the roll stay assembly if the roll bars are lifted at an angle.
- Clamp the roll sheet using the roll holders.
- Slide the roll holders to both ends of the sheet and tighten the screws to clamp them in place.
- Clamp the roll holders leaving a gap of 2 to 3 mm from the sheet edges. The roll will not be able to rotate and sheet feeding may not be possible if both edges are tightly clamped.
- Lock the roll stopper.
- Push the roll stopper lever toward the rear of the machine to lock in place.
- The roll stopper prevents the sheet from rotating when the roll sheet is pulled out.
- Place a roll sheet on the roll bars.
- Be sure to mount with the sheet facing in the correct direction.
- Push back the clamp lever to raise the pinch rollers.
- Pass the sheet through the platen.
- Insert the sheet between the pinch rollers and the grit rollers.
- Align the right edge of the sheet using the vertical ribs on the platen.
- Move the pinch rollers to suit the sheet width.
- Move the pinch rollers to be least 5 mm inside the sheet edges. Incorrect positioning may cause the sheet to become offset during sheet feeding.
- Set the clamps at both edges to High mode.
- If using three pinch rollers, select High mode or Low mode for the center clamp as appropriate to suit the sheet being used.
- Pull out the sheet tight to eliminate any sagging.
- Check to confirm that the sheet has been loaded without any sagging, then pull the clamp lever toward you.
- If the power is on, the vacuum fan operates and sucks up the roll sheet.
- If the power is not on, the vacuum fan will not operate. In which case, pull the clamp lever toward you while supporting the sheet with your other hand to prevent it distorting.
- Check to confirm that the pinch rollers are evenly spaced.
- Hold the sheet between the pinch rollers and grit rollers.
- If the spacing is not uniform, repeat all steps from the start.
- Unlock the roll stopper
- Pull the roll stopper lever toward the front of the machine while pressing in.
- Press

- Pressing the [FEED] key displays a screen for selecting the number of pinch rollers before sheet detection. Select the number of pinch rollers before performing sheet detection.
- The number of pinch rollers set here takes precedence over the number of pinch rollers using the [SET UP] - [PINCH ROLL.] menu.
- Press
to select the number of pinch rollers to be used.
- If [ROLL. SELECT] is set to [ON], select the number of pinch rollers to be used. Setting the Number of Pinch Rollers to Use
- Start sheet detection.
- If [DUMMY CUT] is set to [ON], a dummy cut is performed after sheet detection is complete. DUMMY CUT
- Use [SHEET FEED] to pull out the length of sheet to be used. Sheet Feed
- Before using the roll sheet, make sure that there is sufficient sheet for the length to be used. Feeding the sheet reduces offset when cutting and also allows you to check in advance that the sheet is not askew.
